There are several color tests you can take. It is recommended that you take the three most popular ones (see below) and then read the color descriptions below and determine which test is more accurate for you. This test was written specifically to help take out some of the subjectivity when it comes to women in business. As women, Jen feels we all have the ability to have each color personality at various point in our lives based on the situation and also the season. For this test you will want to answer as truthfully as you can and perhaps ask your spouse, parent, or best friend what they see your answer should be. Often how we view ourselves is not really who we actually are. Also, consider when you are taking this test. How are you feeling? Are you overly stressed, tired, upset, or any other extreme emotion? Try to take the test when you feel calm and relaxed.

Answer each section by noting the question number and letter that best describes you out of the 4 possible answers. Use the answer key at the bottom to add up your responses.

OTHER TESTS TO TAKE:
Please note: color personality tests have been around for decades. Marc Accetta first matched these 4 colors to the specific personalities. You may see older tests from others using white and gold. Jacob Adamo popularized Marc's test with Young Living leaders when he learned about it from his leaders and then helped with descriptions that answer how we respond to the personal questions we ask. Jen O'Sullivan added to these two tests by helping women understand how we don't typically fit into one color all the time and how we can take each test with a more objective approach. COLOR DESCRIPTIONS

YELLOW PERSONALITY TYPE DESCRIPTION

STRENGTHS
Yellows are those who love to help. They are kind, agreeable, purpose driven, loyal, prepared, honest, and authentic. They put family first and are motivated by helping others. Yellows often go where they are needed rather than tell people what to do. They like following systems and will readily follow ethical leaders. They are humble and happy people who enjoy small social gatherings where intimacy can be built. Yellows have excellent relationship building skills and make great hostesses. They enjoy helping others achieve their goals and are wonderful team players. Yellows often volunteer their time and money to worthy causes.

WEAKNESSES
Yellows are sometimes overly sensitive and can take rejection personally. They can easily bottle up anger or frustration, only to erupt later. They are people pleasers who aim to keep the peace, so they often avoid conflict or back off when there is a possibility of confrontation or an argument. Yellows shy away from competitions and can often look down on those who are too competitive. They can also be judgmental internally towards those who seem materialistic or money driven. Yellows have a hard time selling products and services to friends and family because they feel an internal battle that somehow it is wrong.

LIKES OTHERS TO
Yellows appreciate people to use a softer tone of voice and to not talk fast. They enjoy conversation that is give and take without being rushed. Yellows desire others to be honest and authentic and give them lots of encouragement in areas they feel they need help with. Show a Yellow that they can accomplish their goals and cheer them on. The best way to communicate to a Yellow is to show them how they will be helping people to improve their lives.

GREEN PERSONALITY TYPE DETAILS

GREEN STRENGTHS
Greens are analytical, reserved, planners, loyal, logical, and methodical. They need to understand the “why” and “how” of things and they love numbers, graphs, and charts. Greens often like to be behind the scenes and dislike being in the spotlight. They can be very contemplative and often like to be alone. They are perfectionists who love precision. They can be direct when necessary and like having all the details. They like to be on time and like others to be as well. They are motivated by information and learning more.

GREEN WEAKNESSES
Greens are known for having analysis paralysis. They often cannot move forward until they have all the information. They will play it safe rather than take risks. Greens will complain to their spouse or trusted friend but usually the complaining is in the form of continuous internal dialogue. They can be highly judgmental and will mentally berate others and internally consider themselves as superior. Greens do not work well under pressure and often take a very long time to complete tasks. They do not like change and appreciate order in their life and cannot understand why others do not feel the same way.

GREENs LIKE OTHERS TO
Greens appreciate people who give them time to come to a conclusion on their own time rather than force them to make a decision. They like people to point them in the right direction. Greens want an honest, direct, helpful, and true approach with all the details. Showing them graphs and charts is helpful too.

RED PERSONALITY TYPE DESCRIPTION

RED STRENGTHS
Reds are driven leaders who are assertive, direct, confident, and goal oriented. They are often visionaries who like to take risks and love being challenged. Reds will be honest at all times, telling the truth even if it hurts. They are great self-starters and are known to take initiative in leadership roles. Reds like to get things done and have great follow-through on projects. The are often viewed as overachievers who make good use of their time. They have very thick skin and are fine dealing with any kind of confrontation. Reds have a competitive edge and are able to adapt well to change.

RED WEAKNESSES
Reds are often impatient and can be seen as aggressive by others. They are known to feel superior to others thinking that their way is the right way and can come off as arrogant. Reds are often motivated by money and a desire to understand what is in it for them. They can be very selfish and concerned only with how they look to others. Reds often change direction too fast and will make snap decisions without thinking it through. Their competitive edge can get in the way of being a team player. If a Red is not careful, they can spiral into a season of complaining and negativity. They can be very confrontational at times wanting their opinion to be heard and often cannot admit when they are at fault. Reds have a hard time with small talk which causes them to become alienated from social gatherings.

REDS LIKE OTHERS TO
Reds appreciate people who get right to the point and tell them how something will benefit them. They like others to give them lots of compliments and thrive on people asking them for their opinion. You can recruit a Red by asking them for advice on how they would run your business if they were you. Indirect suggestion works best with Reds.

BLUE PERSONALITY TYPE DETAILS

STRENGTHS
Blues are fun, bubbly, talkative, optimistic, trendy, creative, enthusiastic, spontaneous, and fearless. They love meeting new people and are often considered the life of the party. You can spot a blue because they are usually happy on the outside, very gregarious, and love to meet new people. They love all emotions but are also peace-loving people who like everyone to be happy. They are great collaborators and are motivated by fun rewards like vacations, traveling, and presents. Blues are very passionate and will seek out new and exciting adventures. They love the outdoors and have a general love for life.

WEAKNESSES
Blues can often forget that they are dominating the conversation, so it is sometimes hard to get a word in. They can also be generally forgetful. Blues can get so involved in what they are doing creatively that they forget what time it is and are often late to appointments. They are easily distracted and get easily bored. This is why Blues love to have music playing in the background to work at their best. For Blues, rules are usually only suggestions and they may be seen speeding or not stopping at stop signs if there is no one around. When it comes to projects they start, they may not finish because they get excited about a new project and move on to that without thought or consequence to the previous project. Blues have a tendency toward internal depression. They want everyone to view them as the happy-go-lucky person they portray, but often the stress of life builds up and they can be riddled with internal turmoil without anyone knowing.

LIKES OTHERS TO
Blues appreciate people who give them lots of encouragement. It is best for people to share by using stories to hold their attention. Show a Blue the potential for meeting new people and the incredible community your team has to offer them. Blues love group cultures that are fun. If there is nothing fun about your group meetings or gatherings, they simply won’t show up.
