Every company has a different meaning when they refer to the word “clean”. Most consider an ingredient clean if it is not toxic. Many plastics are considered non-toxic when applied topically and are considered clean by some companies. While technically true, using foundation on your face with excessive plastics such as dimethicone and polymers may cause your skin to not be able to breathe and is an easy place for bacteria to thrive.
